Marketing Director Added to Spangler Management

BRYAN, OH September 1, 2017 - Spangler Candy Company today announced that Evan Brock, Director of Marketing, will join the company’s Management Committee.

“The global confectionary marketplace is fast paced and extremely competitive. It is necessary to grow our leadership team to better navigate the complexities of the 21st century business world,” said Kirk Vashaw, Chairman and CEO.

Spangler President and CFO Bill Martin added, “Evan Brock is an accomplished marketing professional at Spangler. He has more than a decade of experience with our company, and we welcome the knowledge he will bring to our leadership discussions.”

Brock joined Spangler Candy Company in 2005 as a Brand Manager. He was named Director of Marketing in 2014. He has been part of the Spangler sales and marketing team which has grown Dum Dums® into the #1 lollipop in the USA.

He also has made contributions to the growth of the company’s candy cane portfolio through packaging refreshes, new licenses and new merchandising vehicles. Most recently Brock oversaw the creation and launch of the Dum Dums Color Party™ line which extends the Dum Dums brand into the party and craft markets.

Brock grew up on his family’s farm in South Charleston, Ohio before attending Ohio Northern University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business. He and his wife, Amy, live in Bryan with their daughter, Lila, and son, Nolan.

Spangler Candy Company has been family owned and operated in Bryan, OH since 1906. It is one of the largest lollipop producers in the world and the only major candy cane producer in the United States. Other products include Saf-T-Pops® and Spangler Circus Peanuts.
