NEEDED INGREDIENTS

  • Medium Sized Sauce Pan
  • Stirring Spoon
  • Extra Small Treat Baggies
  • String or Twisty Ties
  • ¾ cup Brown Sugar
  • 3 tbsp. Light Corn Syrup
  • 6 tbsp. Butter

How to make it

  1. Combine all the caramel ingredients into your sauce pan. Set to medium heat and stir ingredients until everything is melted nice and smooth. You should see bubbles forming in the caramel by that point. Remove from heat and allow to cool for a few moments.
  2. Unwrap your Saf-T-Pops and dunk them in the caramel. Half dunk, full dunk, slam dunk--whatever way you like them. But we're of the opinion that the more caramel the better!
  3. Place your dunked Saf-T-Pops on a plate, cookie sheet, or wax paper to allow the caramel to set.If you're short on time, you can stick them in the fridge-- it helps the caramel harden.

Packaging:

If you're planning on sending these to school with the kids, you need to wrap 'em up. Use the smallest sized treat bags you can find, and pull them over your finished Saf-T-Pops. Then, either twist tie them or use some string to secure the packages. We used green and silver twisty ties but you can use any string or ribbon you like. How about using your school colors?

Whether you're making these for the whole class or just to eat at home--these Caramel Dipped Lollipops will have your kids excited about getting back in the classroom. Before the homework starts piling up, have some fun with this ever so sweet back-to-school treat!
