Candy Processor/Packer - 2nd Shift:  [Bryan, OH] JOB SUMMARY: Sorts, wraps, inspects and packages finished product for shipping or warehousing. Cleans and maintains plant and related facilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
•    Works individually or in a group along a conveyor, bagger operation or table to sort, wrap, inspect and package finished products.
•    Assembles folds and tapes cartons, inserts or boxes into which product is to be placed.
•    Weighs scrap and documents the results.
•    Bags or boxes product by hand, sort’s product that is obviously broken or imperfect and places in proper scrap container.
•    Inspects candy visually to ensure proper color and wrap is maintained.
•    Dates and labels cartons when necessary.
•    Cleans walls, windows, partitions, sinks and doors by sweeping, scrubbing, washing, waxing and dusting throughout the facility.
•    Picks up string, sticks, slip sheets, pallets, cardboard, and other debris by hand (including outside).
•    Cleans manufacturing areas as directed including various production accessories by hand.
•    Uses container washer to clean utensils, rework containers, and other accessories.
•    Follows all Spangler Candy safety/sanitation policies and procedures.
•    Supports the organization’s commitment to ensure that our food safety and quality plans conform to all regulatory requirements and with food quality and safety requirements of our customers and report any problems or potential problems observed concerning food safety and quality to Supervision immediately.

Refrigeration/Utilities Technician 3rd Shift 10pm-6am: [Bryan, OH]  JOB SUMMARY:  Plans and performs required work and repairs to plant air conditioning systems, HVAC controls and other associated A/C and refrigeration related equipment. Plans and performs required insulation work and repairs. EPA Universal (Type I, II and III) Refrigeration certificate required.

May advance (1) labor grade each without bidding for obtaining and holding certificate(s) for the following: Steam Systems Certification (Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operator License), or a Pipefitter’s Certification (Ohio Braising Certification – Pipe), or an Industrial Electrical Certificate and demonstrating the competency and ability to perform the job(s).

Note: Industrial Electrical Certificate can be waived by successfully passing the Utility Electrical Test followed by the successfully completing the Utility Electrical Task Checklist with mentor.

EXPERIENCE:  Two to five years of field experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Diagnoses and remedies equipment operating difficulties, makes adjustments, tears down, repairs and replaces defective parts, valves, relays, controls, etc., and reassembles to prior operating condition.
Ability to troubleshoot single and three phase industrial motors, VFDs, electrical distribution and protection circuits up to 480VAC.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
Maintains, cleans and makes repairs on chemical feed and control equipment for HVAC equipment.
Installs equipment such as air conditioning units, compressors, condensers, pumps, etc. with assistance as necessary.
Initiates action to secure A/C and refrigeration equipment in case of power or equipment failures. Reactivates equipment following repairs or restoration of electrical power.
Installs all necessary water, air, and refrigerant gas tubing and piping as required for A/C and refrigeration operations. Installs and repairs miscellaneous piping as required. Insulates piping, duct work, equipment, etc. as necessary
Maintains and repairs all air handlers, A/C and refrigeration equipment. Requires changing air filters, cleaning coils and cooling towers.
Follows all Spangler Candy safety/sanitation policies and procedures.

Utilities Tech(Refrigeration & Steam Systems Technician) 3rd Shift 10pm-6am: [Bryan, OH] Individual must possess an EPA Universal (Type I, II and III) Refrigeration Certificate or Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operator License to qualify for this position.

SUMMARY – Refrigeration (HVAC) Technician - Work involves inspection and repair to plant air conditioning systems, HVAC controls and other associated A/C and refrigeration related equipment. Performs preventive maintenance and routine servicing of equipment.

SUMMARY – Steam Systems (Boiler) Technician - Work involves responsibility for the operation, servicing, and repair of high pressure steam boilers, water systems, gas systems, HVAC and steam associated control systems, compressed air systems, pumps, motors, heaters, safety devices, boiler controls, system-related equipment, testing boiler water, ensuring safety guidelines are met and updating records.

May advance (1) labor grade each without bidding for obtaining and holding certificates for the following: Steam Systems Certification (Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operator License), or a Pipefitter’s Certification (Ohio Braising Certification – Pipe), or an Industrial Electrical Certificate and demonstrating the competency and ability to perform the job(s).

2nd Shift Electricians: [Bryan, OH] Typical responsibilities includes lays out and performs all required operations pertaining to the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of complicated electrical and electronic equipment and circuits, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and circuits used in the various plant departments, offices and related facilities. May advance to Electrical Technician (L/G 14) without bidding by holding the L/G 13 position for a minimum of 24 months. 

3rd Shift Pipe Fitter/Utilities Department 3rd Shift 10pm - 6am:  [Bryan, OH] Job Summary:
• Plans, lays out and performs assigned duties in connection with the installation, maintenance and repair of the piping systems throughout the plant facilities. Requires Pipe Fitter’s Certification (Ohio Braising Certification - Pipe).

• May advance (1) labor grade each without bidding for obtaining and holding certificates for the following: Steam Systems Certification (Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operator License), or an EPA Universal (Type I, II and III) Refrigeration Certificate, or an Industrial Electrical Certificate and demonstrating the competency and ability to perform the job(s). Note: Labor grade to be adjusted to match the Utility Refrigeration Technician or Utility Steam System Technician upon completion of either the Steam Systems Certification (Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operator License), or a Refrigeration (HVAC) EPA Universal (Type I, II and III) Refrigeration Certificate and demonstrating the competency and ability to perform the job.

Process Mechanics: [Bryan, OH] Process Mechanic responsibilities include:  Repairs, rebuilds and troubleshoots process equipment on the production floor and throughout the plant. Responsible for maintenance and adjustment of equipment to provide a quality product at an efficient, productive level.  Works closely with the production process striving to improve quality and efficiency.

2nd Shift Sanitation Supervisor: [Bryan, OH] Primary Responsibilities include: has the authority and primary responsibility for assuring effective supervision of assigned sanitation process(s), making certain activities conform to management’s objectives and department policies; assures that sanitary conditions meet FDA/Ohio Department of Agriculture standards; and assures that all products are produced and distributed under food safety and quality guidelines of the FDA and our customers, constantly monitors and measures, in coordination with the Food Safety Team, the organization’s performance in food quality and food safety to meet our goal of being World Class and World Competitive. 

Job Duties include: supervise assigned hourly employees, providing direction and assistance; participates as a member of the Food Safety Inspection Team; maintains sanitation manual; administers cleaning room assignment procedure; appraises sanitation employee’s performance. Assuring that proper materials are available for use in the sanitation process; trains assigned personnel in proper cleaning techniques, cleaning materials and safety procedures; counsels employees to improve performance; monitors the plant making certain sanitation standards are being met and advises appropriate personnel of problems encountered; investigates and recommends new cleaning methods and equipment.

On-site: Regular Work Schedule is Sunday-Thursday.
