Accounts Receivable Assistant-Credit & Collections/Deduction Resolution

 Primary responsibilities include: Reviewing check remittances, retrieving documentation, evaluating, processing, and clearing or collecting deductions. The position also requires extensive email communication and follow-up when necessary.

 In order to be considered for this position, the applicant must possess the following qualifications: perform mathematical calculations, record /report information and draw conclusions from visual and/or physical research of documentation, good interpersonal skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, and proficient intermediate level computer skills. Minimum of High School education with knowledge of basic accounting and general office procedures are required.

Process Maintenance

Repairs, rebuilds and troubleshoots process equipment on the production floor and throughout the plant.  Responsible for maintenance and adjustment of equipment to provide a quality product at an efficient, productive level.  Works closely with the production process striving to improve quality and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Troubleshoots process and related machinery breakdowns on the production floor and throughout the plant to determine repair requirements.

Performs simple electrical checks, disassembles equipment, makes repairs by replacing or fabricating needed parts or mechanisms; reassembles equipment and restores to proper operation.

Services all types of packaging and auxiliary equipment related to process machinery such as box makers, overwraps, labelers, printers, conveyors, air-operated devices, robots, etc., that are synchronized with the process.  Fits, adjusts and properly times these devices.

Machines parts, solders, brazes and welds; installs piping, tubing and sheet metal, fabricating as needed.

Oils and greases machinery and performs daily preventative maintenance.

Instructs and assists production personnel in proper operation of equipment; ensures that safety devices are in place and operating properly.

Studies the production process constantly taking corrective action necessary to ensure an efficient, high quality product line.

Follows all Spangler Candy safety/sanitation policies and procedures.

Supports the organization’s commitment to ensure that our food safety and quality plans conform to all regulatory requirements and with food quality and safety requirements of our customers and report any problems or potential problems observed concerning food safety and quality to Supervision immediately

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Keeps work area clean and orderly including areas throughout the plant and facilities where work is performed.

Assists in training new process mechanics.

Requisitions parts as needed.

Assists the Electrician with process repairs such as motor changes, etc.

Performs and completes other work as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Good vision, color vision, hearing, speaking and finger dexterity skills as well as ability to perform close work.  Ability to work under time pressure, work rapidly for long periods, sit, stand, walk, stoop, climb, kneel, reach, push, pull, use keyboard, lift and/or carry up to approximately 50 lbs.

MINIMUM MENTAL OR COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read, write, follow instructions, perform mathematical calculations and draw conclusions from visual and/or physical inspection of equipment or materials.  Minimum of 1 to 2 years industrial maintenance experience preferably in a production process atmosphere.  Must be able to read schematic diagrams, manuals, parts lists and detailed instructions.  Troubleshooting requires mechanical aptitude and some imagination.  Accepts training and maintains skills necessary to meet new and changing technology.

WORK DEVICES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: Various hand and power tools, assorted wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, wire strippers, wire cutters, hammers, utility knives, tape measure, lathes, mills, welders, soldering equipment, computer and required PPE.

 WORKING CONDITIONS: Exposed to heat, dust, dirt, fumes, chemicals, dampness, vibrations, noise and cramped areas.  Occasionally exposed to burns, cuts, falls, pinch points, electrical shock, sprains and strains.

Electrical Technician

Plans, lays out and performs all required operations pertaining to the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of complicated electrical and electronic equipment and circuits, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and circuits used in the various plant departments, offices and related facilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Establishes distribution centers and installs equipment throughout plant, warehouses and offices.

Disassembles, troubleshoots, repairs or replaces defective parts, wiring or other devices and reassembles to proper operating condition.

Connects and repairs motors; installs, troubleshoots and corrects variable and constant speed controls of various equipment involving intricate controls with multiple interlocking, phasing and safety devices, including timers, starters, controllers, heating and cooling controls, programmable controllers, computer circuitry, welders, etc.

Services substation equipment, lift truck electrical systems, plant lighting, etc.

Designs electromechanical systems for new installations or modifications of existing equipment when required.

Prepares wiring diagrams when necessary for permanent records or for changes brought about by on-the-job conditions.

Troubleshoots, repairs and adjusts form, fill and seal systems, scale or volumetric systems and other packing and process equipment.

Directs activities of assigned personnel.

Supports the organization’s commitment to ensure that our food safety and quality plans conform to all regulatory requirements and with food quality and safety requirements of our customers and report any problems or potential problems observed concerning food safety and quality to Supervision immediately

Instructs mechanical and production personnel in care, operation and correction of minor equipment problems.

MINIMUM MENTAL OR COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read, write, follow instructions, complete mathematical calculations, analyze data and schematics, as well as ability to draw conclusions from visual and/or physical inspection of equipment, machines or materials.  Requires the equivalent of formal apprenticeship training in industrial electrical, electronics, pneumatics and hydraulics.  Must be able to read and interpret clearly complicated electrical ladder and wiring diagrams, computer logic, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams associated with all plant equipment.  Must construct, alter and install wiring and control circuits in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC).  Accepts training and maintains skills necessary to meet new and changing technology.

WORK DEVICES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: Variety of hand tools (pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, flashlight, wire cutters, etc.), power tools (hand drills, rotary hammer drill, etc.), any electrical testing equipment (meters, oscilloscopes, etc.), computer, material handling equipment and all required PPE.

Steam Systems/Utilities Tech

Join our team at SPANGLER CANDY COMPANY as a 2ND shift Steam Systems/Utilities Technician.

Plans and performs required work, and repairs to boiler system, water/well systems, gas systems, HVAC and steam associated control systems, compressed air and system related equipment and other steam system related equipment. 

Steam System Certification (Ohio High Pressure Boiler Operator License) required.  Additional desired certifications:  EPA Universal (Type I, II and III) Refrigeration certificate, Pipefitter’s certification (Ohio Braising Certification-Pipe)

Requires a high degree of technical knowledge and experience with the installation of steam system equipment such as pumps, valves, traps, piping, boilers etc.  Operates, maintains and installs compressed air system equipment.

CANDY PACKERS - PRODUCTION

Works individually or in a group along a conveyor, bagger operation or table to sort, inspect and package finished products. Assembles, folds and tapes cartons, inserts or boxes into which product is to be placed.

Bags or boxes product by hand, sort’s product that is obviously broken or imperfect and places in proper scrap container. Inspects candy visually to ensure proper color and wrap is maintained.

Stacks cartons of packaged candy on skid in prescribed order and dates and labels cartons when necessary.Cleans floors including white lines, walls, windows, partitions, sinks and doors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, washing, waxing and dusting throughout the facility.

Picks up string, sticks, slip sheets, pallets, cardboard and other debris by hand (including outside). Cleans manufacturing areas as directed including various production accessories by hand.

Uses container washer to clean utensils, rework containers, and other accessories.

Follows all Spangler Candy safety/sanitation policies and procedures. Supports the organization’s commitment to ensure that our food safety and quality plans conform to all regulatory requirements, and with food quality and safety requirements of our customers.  Reports any problems or potential problems observed concerning food safety and quality to Supervision immediately.
