How can I get a donation from your company? |

We receive a tremendous number of requests from worthwhile causes, and therefore have very strict guidelines governing our support. In most cases our donations are very limited; and only to local area events and organizations if they meet our guidelines. If you would still like to submit a request for a local area donation, please send a written request to Spangler Candy Company via mail, fax, or email at least six weeks prior to the event for consideration.
Dum Dum products can be purchased at most food, drug, mass, and club retailers. See the "Where To Buy" link for retailers in your area. We also sell products in bulk, bags, and boxes at our Online Store. |

The importance of good nutrition, and the problems of obesity, are current topics in society. What positive facts can I share about Dum Dums in this regard? |

- Each Dum Dum Pop has less than 25 calories and no fat.
- One way to help prevent obesity is to exercise "portion control". Dum Dum Pops are a perfectly sized treat, providing a quick, high-flavor treat without consuming too much.
- It is important to allow treats, such as candy and other snacks, in moderation rather than eliminate them. Children who learn the importance of balanced eating will be better-equipped to manage their own diet as adults.
- Candy does not contribute a large percentage of the fat and sugar in the American diet. In fact, less than two percent of the fat and ten percent of the sugar in our diets are supplied by candy. Most of the fat actually comes from the high-fat animal products we eat. The main sources of sugar in America's diets are sugary beverages, baked goods, and frozen desserts. - Dum Dum Pops do not contain many of the food allergens, including peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, soy or wheat gluten. Dum Dum Pops are manufactured on dedicated equipment. This allergen statement does not include our Dum Dum Gum Pops or Dum Dum Chewy Pops Variety Pack (Dum Dums with chocolate chewy, sour chewy, or gum filling).
- Dum Dum Pops are kosher approved by the Orthodox Union.

What is the history of the Dum Dum, and how did it get its name?

Dum Dum Pops were originated by Akron Candy
Company in Bellevue, Ohio, in 1924. I.C. Bahr, the early sales manager of the company,
named the ball-shaped candy on a stick and figured Dum Dum was a word any child could say.
Spangler Candy purchased the Dum Dum Pop in 1953 from Akron Candy Company and moved
the operation to Bryan, Ohio. |

Why aren’t all flavors in every bag of Dum Dums? |

Sometimes, due to wrapper changes, one or more
of the flavors may not be packed out for a period of time. |

What is the Mystery Flavor™ Dum Dum Pop? |
| A: |
The Mystery Flavor™ pop is a mixture of two flavors (the end
of one batch of candy meets the beginning of the next batch). Our candy lines are
continuous and the switch-over from one flavor to another results in some pops containing
one or both flavors. |

Why did the Astro Pop
change? Why do you no longer make Astro Pops? |
| A: |
At Spangler, we strive to continuously improve
our products. The recent Astro Pop changes are an excellent example. The new
inverted shape eats better. The pop will no longer slip out of your mouth and the
larger end delivers more candy (and flavor) at one time. We improved the flavor
profile, reduced the stickiness and removed the paraffin wax. Unfortunately,
sales volumes did not justify the continuation of Astro Pops, and this
product is no longer produced as of September 2004. |

held candy company. We have been in the candy business since 1906,

you offer public tours of Spangler Candy Company? |

Tours of the factory on our Spangler Trolley are on Wednesday through Friday from 12 Noon to 4:30 pm ET. There are no reservations. Tours are on a first-come, first served basis. Tour prices are: Adults $5, Children 6-18 $3, Children 5 & Under Free with a paid Adult, Seniors $4. Tours will not be offered on any day that is a holiday for the factory.
