Spangler Candy Congratulates Sales Director

Sales Director Lloyd Bryant is awarded the NCBA 1998 Earl K. (Doc) Reed Award

Bryan, OH July 1998 -Lloyd R. Bryant was recently awarded the National Candy Brokers Association's 1998 Earl K. (Doc) Reed award.  This honor recognizes the Regional Sales Manager who has made the greatest contribution to the confectionery industry this past year.

A 27-year industry veteran, Bryant attended John Burroughs High School in Burbank, Ca, and graduated from California State University in Northbridge,CA.   He held a series of posts at American Chicle Group from 1970-1980, then moved to Switzer Licorice for a year as Western Regional Manager.  Between 1981 and 1985, he was General Manager at Pronto Distributors.  Since 1985 he has been employed at Spangler Candy Company, where he is Central Region Sales Director.

Bryant served two tours in Vietnam, one as a Rear Admiral's USMC bodyguard on USS Enterprise.  In 1969, he married his wife Cheryl in Reseda, CA.   They have three daughters, Wendy (and son-in-law Robert), Amber and Tori, and one granddaughter, Brieanna.

Bryant has served on the NCA's Trade Relations Committee, the New Exhibitors Advisory Board for NACS, and was inducted into the NCSA's Hall of Fame in 1997.   Lloyd currently serves as first Vice President of the NCSA.  He is a member of the Orchard Hills Country Club and El Prado Men's Club, where he served on the Board of Directors for 10 years.
