Spangler Candy Congratulates Kettle Nominee Pat Hurley

Patrick L. Hurley, Spangler Candy Director of Technical Services, has been nominated for the prestigious Candy Industry's 55th Annual Kettle Award. The Kettle Award goes to an individual who has contributed to various aspects of the candy industry including government relations, quality, sales & marketing, plant improvement, research & product development, and education, financial, administrative & environmental issues.
Mr. Hurley is nominated for his contributions in quality advancement, research and product development, and production and plant improvement. Mr. Hurley's positions during his 30 years at Spangler Candy have been in the quality control, research, export, and cost & technical services arena.
Active in the industry, he is past president and current secretary of the AACT (American Association of Candy Technologists); past chairman and current member of the NCA (National Confectioners Association) technical committee; past chairman and current treasurer of the Northwest Ohio Section of IFT (Institute of Food Technologists); past chairman and current publications chairman of the Top of Ohio Section of American Society of Quality; and member of the steering committee of the USA Confectionery Pavilion at the International Sweets & Biscuits Show in Cologne, Germany.
